Birmingham Apothecary is a historic pharmacy located in the Five Points South community of Birmingham, Alabama. We are the oldest pharmacy in Birmingham. For over 100 years, we have been serving the community with quality medications and a knowledgeable team of pharmacists. We are proud to be a part of the history of Birmingham and strive to serve our customers with the same level of care and dedication we have for years.
Our apothecary has modernized over the years, but we always strive to maintain the same level of commitment to our customers. We offer a wide range of products and services, from traditional medications to specialty items and more. Meet our owner, AJ! AJ completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia and received his Doctorate of Pharmacy at Nova Southeastern University. With more than 15 years of hands-on experience across hospital, institutional, and community pharmacy, AJ is passionate about serving and supporting the community through compassionate, patient-centered care. In his free time, AJ loves watching football and creating lasting memories with his beautiful family.
Maddy
Meet our Pharmacy Manager, Maddy! She graduated from Samford University with her Doctorate of Pharmacy in 2021. Starting as an intern and rising to the role of manager, she is committed to supporting both her team and her patients, always striving to make a positive difference in every interaction. When she is not in the pharmacy, she enjoys tending to her garden, traveling to new places, or enjoying live music at a concert.
